Update from PC Tom Hardy regarding Shenley

Update From PC Tom Hardy Regarding Shenley

Thu 3 Dec 22:00

Hello Residents,

Over November we continued our work tackling anti-social behaviour in Shenley. I am pleased to report that the number of reports regarding anti-social behaviour in the village has dropped dramatically and we have received some very positive feedback from members of the public as a result.

There was another good turn out at the beat surgery on the 26th of November at Andrew Close, Shenley - thankyou to those who braved the cold to come and see me!

There is no beat surgery in December as the CRG takes place on December the 15th instead (see details below). I will announce the dates of the beat surgeries for 2010 in the coming weeks. In response to feedback from residents in South Mimms and Ridge the surgeries will rotate between the three villages on a monthly basis.

In December please ensure that you remain vigilant and secure your home and belongings against burglaries as there is a seasonal increase in this deplorable crime over the festive period. Please take the time to click on 'Operation Guardian', located on the bottom right of the constabulary homepage, for crime prevention advice specific to burglary.

Unfortunately there has been a rise in anti-social behaviour in the area of Blanche Lane, South Mimms in the evenings and this has now become a policing priority. Please report incidents on our non-emergency number 0845 33 00 222 or 999 if appropriate and obtain as detailed a description of suspects as possible. It is often reports from our residents that enable us to catch the individuals responsible 're-handed'.

Parking outside of St Giles School and Shenley JMI is still very poor and I have also received a number of complaints about the dangerous behaviour of drivers in Hugo Gryn Way/Farm Close near to Clore Shalom school. Targeted patrols are planned and offending motorists will be dealt with. Please bear in mind the safety of pupils and local residents alike and drive/park responsibly.

Stay safe (and warm!).
