Dear Members and Friends,
We are trying to arrange for the autumn (a potential date being 6th – 8th November, or the following weekend) a community weekend away.
After many previous attempts, we may have found somewhere that is cost effective, and also provide us with a picturesque base for a lovely Shabbat weekend away for all within the community.
Skeet Hill House is a lovely property that is the last remaining kosher facility of its kind in the UK. Originally just for kids, it is just at the end of a full refurbishment so that it can accommodate families, shuls etc and serve a broader community base. There are some lovely facilities and we are planning full activities for children allowing adults to chill-out, play 5-aside footy or join in a game of family rounder’s. We are also planning to have a post-shabbat BBQ.
Please look at the link below to see the full benefits that Skeet offers, we anticipate a cost of £34 per person per night, including food and drinks. So a weekend cost – 2 nights full board for £68 per person. We are very aware of the financial constraints that we are all facing at the moment, and we hope that this price will be attractive to many members of the community. If there are lots of people interested, then the costs MAY be reduced a little, and I quote the price only as a guide price.
Accommodation is all new, is ensuite and a base sheet, pillow and pillow case are supplied, but you need to bring either sleeping bags or duvets, and as well as there being just a few family rooms available, the other accommodation is dormitory based, so it may well be that families/couples may be separated and we have ladies dorms and mens dorms. Should you want to book a family room, please note that priority will be given to those with young children and on a first come, first served basis. (Babies are also welcome – there is no charge for under 3’s and you will need to bring your own travel cot and high chair).
