Education

Adult education is seen as a very important part of fabric of the Shenley Community.

Programmes already held this year include:

• Shabbos on Shabbos – an in depth study of some of the most important laws of shabbos
• Booze and Shmooze - light heart question and answer session over a couple of drinks
• Timeless Messages – a study of some of the important messages from the Ethics of the Fathers.
• Wardens Workshop – so that more of us are able to undertake the wardens’ duties

A recent survey, where members were asked to indicate subject areas they would be interested in supporting, resulted in a clear set of priorities, and these will form the basis of our Adult Education Programme for the coming year.  The areas we will be focusing on will include Jewish History, Torah Learning, Jewish Philosophy, the Shul Services, as well as Hebrew Reading (basic and the intermediate), and Hebrew Language.

In addition, the exciting Hertsmere Leaning Experience (HLX) Programme will be running in November. More information at www.hlx.org.uk
